# Reddit censorship — profile removal and permanent ban (July 2026) **Alef essay** share blocked on author **own Reddit page**, then **permanent account ban** with **empty inbox** — no contestable notice > **TL;DR:** **July 2026** — author attempted to post [**Alef and the clogged internet**](/influence/controlled_opposition/alef-and-the-clogged-internet.md) to **personal Reddit profile** **`u/Future-Ad756`** (own page, not a subreddit). Reddit replaced title and body with **[ Removed by Reddit ]** / *Removed by Reddit on account of violating the content policy.* **No** written appeal path or specific rule citation logged. **12 July 2026** — account **permanently banned**; red banner says *Check your inbox for a message with more information*, but **Inbox is empty** — no reason, no rule citation, no appeal thread. **Author read:** Reddit already has **downvotes**; let bad karma work itself out instead of opaque perm bans. **Mitigation:** **paradigmthreat.net** + Substack mirror as canonical. --- ## What broke (documented) **Reddit** — post to **author-owned profile page** (`u/Future-Ad756`) was **removed by Reddit** immediately after publish (screenshot shows **~1 minute** elapsed). Removal banner on **personal page** — author was **not permitted to keep the post on their own profile**. --- ## Permanent account ban — empty inbox (12 July 2026) Days after the profile-post removal, Reddit **permanently banned** the same account. The mobile app shows a red banner: > *This account has been banned permanently. Check your inbox for a message with more information.* The user taps **Inbox** — as instructed — and finds **nothing**. No moderation message. No rule name. No cited post or comment. No appeal link. The screen shows only Reddit’s generic **Turn on notifications** empty state with the Snoo mascot. **Author commentary:** I have **no clue** what the permanent ban is for. Reddit’s whole product is supposed to be **community judgment** — upvotes, downvotes, karma. If my takes are wrong or unpopular, **let the downvotes do their job**. You’d think bad karma would work itself out without a silent kill switch. Instead I get a **permanent ban** and a UI that **lies**: it tells me to check my inbox for details, then shows an **empty inbox**.
